HORTA, A LOST WORLD – HORTA 2011

The exhibition dedicated to Victor Horta, organised by La Maison Autrique asbl, offers an opportunity to examine or re-examine the key moments in a collection of architectural works that have now been mostly lost.

This is part of a growing movement to revive the memory of Art Nouveau, which has been particularly active in the Brussels region for several years now.

It’s hard to believe that all of this architectural work, which was celebrated in its time, just over a century ago, and was built with masterly savoir-faire from such good quality materials, could turn out to be so fragile.

This is the stuff of latter-day legend…
